    Grand Piano

    This is a Victorian Rosewood Square Grand Piano (sn 5373) built by Ernest Gabler in the 1800's. It has been restored to showroom condition with new felts and strings. All parts, stool, music stand and pedal harp are original and intact. It has the original ivory and ebony keyboard. It is for sale and can be seen at:

    Ernest Gabler

    Ernest Gabler was born in Glogau, Silesia. He left Germany after the failure of of the revolution of 1848, arriving in NY in 1851. In 1854 after a period of working for Chickering Pianos he started the The Gabler Piano Company, New York. At his death in 1883 his brother Emil Gabler succeeded to the management and later his nephew Emil Ernest Gabler.
